Book Review of Paperboy by Vince Vawter

Paperboy is the first book written by Vince Vawter. It was published last year, and it’s been on Amazon’s top seller list ever since. I had a hard time getting a copy from my library because it was requested by lots of people, which raised my curiosity! When Liam saw the book, he was hoping to read it, so I pushed it to the top of my list of books to review.

Book Review of Frindle by Andrew Clements

Andrew Clements’ first chapter book, Frindle, has been around for a while, but I only heard about it recently. It was published in 1998, but I kept seeing it at the top of Amazon’s bestsellers for the 8-10 crowd, and I thought Paul might enjoy it. There are some illustrations in the copy I read, and it was fun to see the work of Brian Selznick (of The Invention of Hugo Cabret fame – you can read my review of that book here)

Book Review of Wildwood Imperium by Colin Meloy

Colin Meloy’s Wildwood Imperium is the third book of The Wildwood Chronicles, and it just came out this February, so it’s a very new release. Liam was eager for me to review it so that he could get his hands on it after the way the second book left him hanging. I reviewed the first book (Wildwood) here and the second book (Under Wildwood) here.

Book Review of Fortunately, The Milk by Neil Gaiman

Neil Gaiman is a really prolific writer. I’ve heard great things about his books for adults and kids, but this is the first book of his that I have read. Fortunately, The Milk was published in the fall of 2013. It was highly recommended by a reader (thanks, Tiffany!), and we really enjoyed it!

Book Review of Flora & Ulysses: The Illuminated Adventures by Kate DiCamillo

Flora & Ulysses: The Illuminated Adventures was this year’s Newberry Medal winner. You might be familiar with some of Kate Dicamillo’s other books: The Tale of Despereaux, Because of Winn Dixie, and The Miraculous Journey of Edward Toulane. I first heard about this book in the pre-Newberry buzz and thought it sounded cute.
