Family Snapshots

What My Kids Read: Family Snapshots

We spent most of this week catching up from our trip. The inspiration of hitting one goal helped as we are pushing to get as much listed as possible by the time the baby arrives (in approximately 10 weeks). It’s been lots of hard work and late nights, but we are seeing progress and that’s always encouraging! The kids have all been pitching in more with the business. They had so much fun on our trip, they are ready to reach that next goal. Their next prize is laser tag with Dad, and it is definitely helping them stay motivated in helping us as we photo and list items.

Of course, we celebrated Mother’s Day this weekend. Both of our mothers live in Alabama, so we could only chat on the phone with them, but our kids were very excited to celebrate this year. They created cards and made breakfast for me that morning, and we spent several hours at the art museum (one of my favorite things to do). They ended the day with some flowers and Indian take-out on the back deck. I felt very loved. :) Every year, I’ve seen our kids grow a little more in planning ahead and celebrating Mother’s Day and Father’s Day. David and I still direct a little, but it’s been really fun to see them mature in learning how to celebrate and honor others. Honestly, that’s the best part of it all for me.

I’m still on an organizing spree! Still sorting bins of hand-me-down clothes, getting rid of as much as possible, and wondering why on earth I’ve got this urge so early in my third trimester. I’ve got lists of project I want to get done before baby, menus to prepare and freeze ahead, and I just pulled out the baby clothes. Maybe it’s because of how much we are focusing on getting as much done in the business before baby, or maybe it’s just hormones, but I’ve got 4 garbage bags of clothes ready to be donated this week!

So that’s what we have been doing this week. How was your week? Have any fun Mother’s Day plans? Any tips on stain removal for little white onesies? I’d love to hear from you in the comments!

  1. oxiclean is the only thing that worked for me. And that is letting items soak for up to a day in it.

  2. The Indian take-out sounds wonderful. Wish that was an option here!

So what do you think?
