What My Kids Read: Family Snapshots

The boys got to have a playdate with their buddies, the Varela boys. Paul said he spent most of his time with Noah playing a boardgame (which is his idea of best time ever!) and Liam spent his time with Ari inventing the prologue to a new game that might also be the beginning of a novel (his idea of best time ever!).

Brontë and I were invited to a tea party celebrating being God’s princesses. It was a beautiful outdoor tea party, complete with lady-like food and manners. We were even graced with the presence of Queen Esther, who told her story to the girls. Brontë had a wonderful time, and I enjoyed catching up with some of the moms too!

We had our monthly church get-together this weekend. We all met out at one family’s home and had a big outdoor potluck before spending some time in worship and listening to a teaching. We had a little rain in the midst of it all, which added to the adventure of it all for the boys. There is something so deeply satisfying about singing together with friends outside, talking about the Lord and about how to love each other sincerely. Exactly what this heart needed this weekend.

David and I are still “nesting” bit by bit. I’ve hit the final stage of pregnancy where I still feel really good until I’m suddenly really tired. I’m so grateful that David is at home this time around and that our business gives me the freedom to rest when I am tired and work when I feel better. Otherwise, I would be feeling a lot more ragged than I do now! We had our home walk-through with my midwife last week, and everything is prepared for another homebirth, assuming everything stays as healthy and normal as it is now. The time has really flown by since we first found out a new little one would be coming! It’s hard to believe that we will be meeting him or her in just a few more weeks!
