Family Snapshots

We had a full week of working and celebrating this week!

Along with working away toward our closest goal in the business of so many items listed, the weather was so beautiful that we broke away several times this week for picnics. One night, we took the kids over to a nearby park and just let them play until it was almost dark. Nothing like swinging and sliding into the dusk. The fireflies have come out at last as well. One night, we turned off all the lights and watched out a window as they flickered and blinked all over our backyard. It was magical, and the girls didn’t want to stop watching!

Of course, we also made time for the annual 4th of July parade in our small town. It’s mostly politicians and local businesses handing out candy, but the kids love it because they get so much candy. Later that day, we drove over to our friends’ house for swimming and a cookout. It was a fun day of celebrating our country’s birthday, and we thoroughly enjoyed it!

The next day, we had an impromptu picnic with our friends, the Barbours. It was another beautiful day at the playground – and Indian take-out with friends made it all the better.

I am still “nesting” as the countdown to baby continues! We have 2 weeks until my due date, but some of our kids have been “early” and “late” while Stella actually arrived on her due date. So, no telling exactly when this baby will arrive, but I’m scrubbing, organizing, cooking ahead, directing furniture rearranging, and narrowing down the baby names like this baby will arrive any time now. Which, I suppose is the truth right about now. Everyone is getting more excited as things are clearly changing in preparation of the baby. Reshuffling carseats was the latest change, and that has everyone excited for our newest passenger to arrive. Not much longer!

So that’s what we’ve been up to this week. How was your Independence Day weekend? Do you have any fun traditions for celebrating? I’d love to hear about them!

So what do you think?
