Parenting Links to Browse

What My Kids Read

I came across several great links this week, and I thought you might enjoy browsing them this weekend.

8 Power Struggles Parents Should Let Go (and why): I thought what she said about reading was spot-on.

I think this is a great way to encourage reading, whether you homeschool or not: Homeschooling with Netflix {Literature Turned Movie}

Looking for ways to make sure your child is understanding and remembering what they have read? Again, this is a resource for homeschoolers, but it might be nice to tuck away for next summer’s reading. Great Peace Academy graciously shared free printables for a Guided Book Report and and Guided Poetry Report.

And, finally, if you didn’t see my post on Facebook, the Wall Street Journal’s website had a great article this week about why we should be reading to our children: How Books Can Teach Your Children To Care.
